How to get help

If you need help from our foodbank there are a few simple steps to follow.

The most important step is to get a referral.

We work with over 250 referral partners in order for us to provide the best help for your current circumstances. A referral agency will ask you a few questions to see if a foodbank referral is the best thing for you. Our current list of agencies includes:

  • Social workers
  • Housing providers
  • Job Centre work coach
  • Health professionals including GPs
  • Drug & alcohol services
  • Blackburn with Darwen Help Hub
  • Support workers
  • Education providers if you have an enrolled child i.e nurseries, primary schools, secondary schools and colleges
  • Domestic violence services
  • Shelter
  • Children’s centres

If you aren’t sure about where to reach out to, call or email us and we can work together to find a referral agency for you.

Wait for our phone call.

Once we have received your referral, one of our friendly telephone assessors will contact you to go through a few questions and to arrange a time for you to collect your food parcel. Please refrain from attending the foodbank until you have received this call, this helps us avoid having too many people in the waiting area and long waiting times for our clients.

If you have any further questions our FAQ’s page may help, or feel free to give us a call.
