About Us

The Oaks Money Advice Centre provides a free, confidential, face to face budgeting, debt and benefit advice services based within Blackburn Foodbank, open to anyone under financial strain. We are understanding of how debt and money management can build up and become seemingly unmanageable, and so we provide tools and advice to alleviate this and allow for a path forward. Anyone is free to terminate services at any point without commitments.

We operate Monday – Friday, 9am-3pm.

The Oaks Money Advice Centre also runs Outreach appointments which are available at Care Network, Blackburn and at Albion Mill. Please contact us to find out more about the outreach service.

Appointments are available face-to-face or over telephone call.

We will be holding drop-in services at the following locations and times. No appointment needed!

  • Darwen Health Centre, James Street West, Darwen, BB3 1PY – Every Tuesday – 10:00-14:00

  • Darwen Children’s Centre, Lord St, Darwen, BB3 0HD – 1st Wednesday of every month – 09:00-12:00

  • Shadsworth Children’s Centre, Shadsworth Road, Blackburn, BB1 2HR – 1st Thursday of every month – 13:00-16:00

  • Livesey Children’s Centre, Andrew Close, Blackburn BB2 4NU – 1st Friday of every month – 09:00-12:00

  • Little Harwood Children’s Centre, Robinson St, Blackburn BB1 5PE0 – 1st Friday of the month – 13:00-16:00

Bare Bones Budget

for an intense saving goal. The bare bones budget will show you how to take your budget
down to the minimum required to survive and fulfil your monthly financial obligations.
